You can help the vicitims of countless crises around the world each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need. The American Red Cross honors donor intent.
Inquiries regarding US Citizens living or traveling in Haiti:
At this time, we are only deploying Red Cross volunteers specially trained to manage international emergency operations. Please consider supporting your community’s local needs by volunteering with your local Red Cross.
Please No - In-Kind Donations:
The American Red Cross initially responds to most international relief efforts with monetary support, and, when needed, ships items such as comfort kits, clean-up kits, medical supplies, tents or tarps. For international situations, however, it is preferable to purchase items as close to the affected region as possible, thereby minimizing shipping costs and stimulating the local economy, which helps to speed long-term recovery of the region. In this way, supplies arrive quickly and storage costs are dramatically reduced.
We are one of many Red Cross National Societies around the world that come together during an international relief effort. Therefore, the American Red Cross can only accept product donations for an international disaster relief operation if we are certain the donated items will be used directly to deliver needed programs and services.

Course participants also receive useful take-home materials that help you retain skills and serve as an excellent refresher and reference tool after training is complete.
